Some Common Questions About Carpet Cleaning

I have been told I should wait as long as possible before having my carpets cleaned.

Dirt is an abrasive. Like sandpaper, everytime you step on your carpet you grind dirt into the carpet fibres. This cuts your carpet, just as if you had used a knife. The cutting causes your carpet to wear out faster. A dirty carpet will not last as long as a clean one and whilst vacuuming helps, by itself, it's simply not enough. The longer you wait to have your carpets cleaned, the more damage you do to your carpet and the faster it wears out.

The only reason you clean your carpets is to remove the dirt.

No, as you probably know, outdoor air contains pollen, fungus, bacteria, air pollution, cigarette smoke, car exhaust fumes and hundreds of other chemicals. When you come into your home you carry those pollen, bacteria in your hair, on your skin, clothing and shoes. Not surprisingly, all those chemicals and toxins wind up in your carpets. If you have allergies, asthma, emphysema or other breathing problems, one major source of your problem could be the pollen, smoke and chemicals in your carpets.

My friend told me that once you have your carpets cleaned they get dirty again very quickly.

This is certainly true if the wrong chemicals and procedures are used. This claim is usually made by a person that has attempted to clean their own carpets with a shampoo product or similar. The scrubbing actions with the shampoo makes the carpet initially look clean, unfortunately the deep down dirt and grit has not been removed, plus the carpet is now full of shampoo that, unless it is rinsed out will go sticky in the carpet fibres attracting dirt to it like a magnet. It is like washing your hair and not rinsing out the shampoo. Another persona may have had a bad experience using one of those leaflet adverts that are always dropping through your letterbox. Generally these people are in and out before you know it, leaving your carpets soaking and full of cleaning chemicals, which again if not rinsed out and neutralised, will cause the carpet to re-soil quickly.

We use the Dry Fusion system that clean, deodorises and adds a Dupont stain blocker to keep your carpets looking cleaner longer with the advantage that the carpet is dry within the hour, refer to Dry Fusion section explained on the site. We also carry out other methods of cleaning if the need arises. All cleaning agents we use are Woolsafe approved.

I thought your phone manner was excellent and you were very considerate and certainly not intimidating. Previously, I had telephoned another company from the Yellow Pages who had promised to phone back but did not, however you were most helpful to my needs. Thanks again.
